PaxEx: Turkish Airlines to Bring Panasonic IFEC Solutions Onboard

Turkish Airlines passengers are in for some good time as the airline has signed an agreement with Panasonic to install in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) on its aircraft.
Panasonic’s X-Series IFEC system, along with its rivetMEDIA IFEC solutions will be installed on 50 aircraft including 25 Boeing 787-9s and 25 Airbus A350-900, with options for a further 10.
The first aircraft featuring the new in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) soultions is due to be delivered to Turkish Airlines in June 2019.
The system will include Panasonic’s unique Integrated Personalization Service (IPS) and will allow Turkish Airlines to add higher levels of personalization to its inflight experience.
Turkish Airlines’ passengers will experience a personalized home theatre experience that includes HD screens for each passenger, audio and video entertainment on demand.
Other features of the new system include capacitive multi-touch screens, inflight shopping and hospitality features, route-based inflight entertainment, passenger survey functions and USB charging facilities.
The aircraft will also be fitted with Panasonic’s new satellite modem enabling high speed WiFi, live TV, video streaming, inflight mobile phone service and greater bandwidth for crew applications.
Passengers will also receive live text news customized for Turkish Airlines by Anadolu Agency (AA), a Turkish News Agency.
This global, high bandwidth connectivity will enable Turkish Airlines’ passengers to stay continually connected throughout long-haul flights across its global network.
