Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff Johannesburg has officially opened its Destination Lobby and Lobby Lounge, a light-filled, architecturally striking space that completes the hotel's most ambitious transformation to date.

The debut represents the final chapter of an extensive building project initiated in 2023, bringing enhanced facilities, new business opportunities, and renewed energy to one of Johannesburg's most distinguished addresses.

Conceived as a partnership between Four Seasons and the hotel's ownership ASB Hospitality and Hotel Properties Limited, the project was designed to establish the city's largest luxury events venue and create a vibrant destination for both hotel guests and the wider Johannesburg community. With the Destination Lobby and Lobby Lounge now open, the vision has been fully realised.

The Destination Lobby offers sweeping vistas over Forest Town, Saxonwold, and Rosebank. The voluminous space integrates the Lobby Lounge, a dining destination that offers patisserie and casual dining venue by day and signature bar and cocktail lounge by night, with an expansive veranda that creates an environment transitioning effortlessly from focused morning meetings to evening aperitifs amid the city lights.

The architectural design draws from Johannesburg's mining heritage, incorporating metallic accents, natural stone, and textured finishes that honour the city's character while embracing contemporary luxury.

Operational enhancements include an expanded check-in area for improved guest flow, a 100-bay parking facility directly beneath the Lobby, and seamless connectivity to Flames restaurant, and Four Seasons Spa.

The recently completed Grand Ballroom, Johannesburg's largest luxury event venue accommodating up to 400 guests, gains a completely separate entrance for the most exclusive events.

A Destination Within the Destination

The 40-seat Lobby Lounge offers all-day dining and a vibrant bar program, welcoming hotel guests and local visitors alike. Whether arriving for a celebratory lunch, an afternoon of work between appointments, or night caps with the city as backdrop, the Lobby Lounge provides a sophisticated yet relaxed setting that captures the dynamism of modern Johannesburg.

Celebrating the Festive Season in Style

As the Destination Lobby and Lobby Lounge open, Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff invites guests to experience the space this December through a carefully curated festive décor and events program.

  • Christmas dining unfolds across three distinct experiences: a polished Christmas Eve five-course dinner; a generous Christmas Day buffet lunch featuring sushi, oysters, carvery and braai stations; and an intimate five-course Christmas Day dinner.

  • A specially-crafted Festive Afternoon Tea, will be available daily from December 15 to 31, 2025, pairing refined savoury course with distinctly South African touches, followed by a sweet course, cranberry scones, peppermint crisp confections, and ginger-vanilla petit gateaux, creating an effortless seasonal pause.

  • The season culminates with a standout New Year's Eve Gala Dinner in the hotel's elegantly designed Grand Ballroom, where guests embark on a global tasting journey before gathering for Johannesburg's most atmospheric countdown.

A New Era for the Westcliff

The opening of the Destination Lobby and Lobby Lounge represents the final milestone in a transformation spanning nearly two years and involving investment of USD 25 million.

Alongside the Grand Ballroom and ongoing evolution of Flames restaurant, the project positions Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff as the definitive luxury destination in Johannesburg, a place where heritage meets innovation, where the city's energy finds expression, and where every visit offers an opportunity for discovery.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
