Meki Batu Farmers Association, under Oromia Cooperative and Promotion Agency, has applauded the support of Ethiopian Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam for his tremendous support and commitment in creating business opportunities for farmers association in Oromia region.

Representing a total of 8,300 farmers in 150 unions; Board Chairman of the union, high officials from the Oromia cooperatives and management of the union handed over the award to the CEO.

The farmers expressed their appreciation for his continued support in strengthening their capability and facilitating better market opportunities.

Currently, Meki Batu Farmers Union supplies Ethiopian Airlines' Inflight Catering Center with fresh fruits and vegetables direct from their farm, while Lume Adama Farmers Co-operatives union supplies wheat flour for Ethiopian Catering.

Ethiopian Catering currently provides in-flight catering services for more than 240 Ethiopian Airlines daily departing flights, VIP and Charter flights, as well as Ethiopian customer airlines flying to Addis Ababa.
