Ethiopian Airlines Launches New Service to Port Harcourt

Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its footprint in Nigeria with the launch of a new service to Port Harcourt, further strengthening its presence in one of its key African markets.

The airline will commence flights to Port Harcourt International Airport on 1 December 2026, operating four times weekly.

With the new service, Port Harcourt will become Ethiopian Airlines' fifth destination in Nigeria, joining Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Kano.

Tickets for the new Port Harcourt service are already available for booking.

The expansion comes as Ethiopian Airlines continues to increase capacity in the Nigerian market. The airline recently announced plans to introduce a third daily flight to Lagos from 1 November 2026, increasing its Lagos operation to 21 flights per week.

The new Port Harcourt route will also give travellers from Nigeria's oil-rich South-South region greater access to Ethiopian Airlines' extensive international network through its hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

From Addis Ababa, passengers can connect to more than 150 destinations worldwide, including cities across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

Ethiopian Airlines has a long history in the Nigerian market, having commenced operations to the country in 1960. More than six decades later, the airline continues to expand its network and frequencies in Nigeria.

The addition of Port Harcourt, alongside the increased Lagos frequencies, underlines Ethiopian Airlines' growing commitment to the Nigerian market and provides travellers with more options for connecting through Addis Ababa to destinations across its global network.
