Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline will launch new service between Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) and Mbombela’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, from 16 November 2026.
This new route will be operated three times a week using an Embraer ERJ140 aircraft which accommodate 44 passengers with only window and aisle seats.
This new route pairs the respective gateways to the Sunshine Coast/Garden Route with the Kruger National Park and its surrounding lodges and other attractions.
For leisure travellers, it will cut travel time significantly, avoiding the need to connect via Johannesburg. It will also support business travel between the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga’s economic and industrial hubs.
Bookings are now open for flights on this first ever direct scheduled air service between the two cities.
