Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Aviation Company of Russia has signed contracts with customers in Zambia for the supply of five of its Superjet 100 commercial aircraft, according to Ch-aviation. According to the report, the order includes four SuperJets for a planned start-up carrier and a VIP-configured jet for use by Zambia's President Edgar Lungu. The delivery of the aircraft to Zambia will take place as early as next year. Sukhoi is also reportedly in talks with customers in Namibia, Nigeria, and Ghana over the purchase of the same aircraft.

Manufactured by Russia's Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a modern fly-by-wire twin-engine commercial regional jet with capacity for up to 108 passengers.
