Barely three weeks after a snake was found in the cargo hold of an Emirates' flight at Muscat airport, a passenger has been bitten by a centipede at the same airport.

The male passenger was on an Oman Air flight WY 101 which was preparing for takeoff on a flight from Muscat to London Heathrow when the incident happened.

The airline in a statement said "Oman Air regrets to inform that a guest during boarding of flight number 101 from Muscat to London Heathrow was bitten by a “centipede” which was hidden in the pocket of his jacket. Immediately after the incident, Oman Air Team requested for medical attention and the affected guest was taken for treatment accompanied by his family.

Oman Air apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its valued guests, confirming giving its utmost priority to the safety and wellbeing of the guests, and extends its appreciation for their understanding and cooperation. Flight WY 101 departed with a delay of 1 hour and 18 minutes".

In November last year, a snake emerged from the ceiling of an Aeromexico airlines' aircraft while flying from Torreon to Mexico City.
