Air Peace Appoints First Female Airline Boss in Nigeria



Air Peace, a Nigerian start-up carrier, has appointed Mrs Oluwatoyin Olajide as its first Chief Operating Officer (COO) making Olajide is the first female chief executive of an airline in Nigeria.


The graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos has undertaken further education at the Canfield University in the United Kingdom.


The new airline’s managing director also has an Airman Certificate and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) license from Sheffield School of Aeronautics, Florida, United States.


Prior to her appointment as managing director, she was head of the safety department having doubled as Chief Operating Officer and acting managing director.


She is bringing on board several years of experience in banking, aviation, marketing, and related fields.


While announcing her appointment, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Barrister Allen Onyeama said, Olajide’s vast experience and exposure in the aviation sector puts her in good stead to run an airline that is poised to revolutionize the airline industry in Nigeria.


Onyeama said the management team of Air Peace led by Olajide would offer the best module to deliver service-driven air transportation in the country.
