South African Airways (SAA) and Turkish Airlines (TK) have begun to implement their codeshare agreement. The agreement was originally signed on 4 December 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Tickets are available for sale from 15 July 2026, with flights commencing on 16 July 2026. Both airlines will continue to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation, including strategic route development and expanded network integration.

This strategic partnership between the two carriers will enhance connectivity between Africa, Türkiye, and key global destinations, offering passengers greater choice and convenience.

Under the codeshare agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its TK flight code on SAA-operated services between Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls, and Mauritius.

In return, South African Airways will place its SA flight code on Turkish Airlines-operated services between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Istanbul, Paris, London, and Frankfurt.

Through this collaboration, customers will benefit from seamless travel options via the Johannesburg and Istanbul hubs, improved connectivity across both airlines’ networks, and enhanced access to major destinations worldwide.

Mr Matshela Seshibe, Acting Group CEO of South African Airways, stated: "This agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening SAA’s global connectivity and provides our customers with enhanced travel options across key markets."

Mr Ahmet Olmuştur, CEO of Turkish Airlines, added: “We are glad to bring together our complementary networks, thus offering our guests more convenient travel options.”
