Following the relaxation of travel restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Singapore Airlines is returning fully to the South African market with an expanded service.
From 21 January 2022, the airline will be flying 6 times a week between Singapore Changi and Johannesburg, South Africa. The airline currently operates one weekly flight to Johannesburg.
The expanded service will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays using an Airbus A350-900. Flights are already open for sale at singaporeair.com
Flight SQ478 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 1:30 and arrive Johannesburg at 6:10. Flight SQ 479 will depart Johannesburg at 13:45 and arrive Singapore at 6:10 the next day. All times are local.
All travellers entering or transiting in Singapore must take either a Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test or professionally-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) pre-departure test.
A negative PCR test taken 48 hours before departure is required for all passengers, except infants born after 2020. You can pre-book and pay for your on-arrival Covid-19 PCR test, if required.
While passengers can transit to other destinations via Singapore Changi Airport, many countries have entry requirements and border controls in place to contain the spread of COVID-19.
If you plan to travel soon, please check the travel advisories for all countries in your itinerary to ensure you meet the requirements. You may view the relevant travel advisories by clicking here.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.
Wonderful event and topics discussed, hopefully we see the manifestations in our African airline businesses in the nearest future. Kudos to you all.
