Nigeria's Overland Airways has placed a firm order for three brand new Embraer E175 aircraft, with purchase rights for three more of the same aircraft model.
The deal, which was announced today at the ongoing Dubai Air Show, is worth USD 299.4 million, at list price with all purchase rights being exercised.
Overland Airways Embraer E175 aircraft will be configured with a total of 88 seats, with premium class cabin configuration. They will be delivered as from 2023.
When delivered, the Embraer E175 aircraft will allow Overland Airways to increase its domestic flights as well as allow it to expand its services to more regional routes across Africa.
A member of the Embraer E-jet family, the Embraer 175 is designed for short to mid-range flights. It features a flexible seat configuration, allowing airlines to match capacity to market demand, and achieve greater productivity and higher utilization.
Based in Lagos, Overland Airways operates scheduled and charter domestic and regional services across West Africa. It commenced flights in 2002 and aims to serve more unserved and underserved routes in Nigeria.
