Delta Launches Service Between Washington D.C. and Seattle

Delta will launch new, nonstop service between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on March 9, 2025, following approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

This new route marks a significant milestone, as it offers customers a more competitive and convenient option for nonstop service between Seattle and Washington’s close-in airport.

Delta’s SEA-DCA route was one of five new beyond-perimeter flights selected by DOT, routes made possible due to Delta's advocacy in conjunction with the recently passed FAA reauthorization bill in the U.S. House and Senate, signed by President Biden in May. With this much-anticipated final order, Delta will offer a nonstop flight to all three of its western hubs from the nation’s capital.

Community and business leaders played a vital role in supporting efforts to secure the new service, emphasizing the positive economic impact and customer benefits the route will bring.

The route will operate on Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, offering a premium customer experience while supporting a more sustainable future of flying through operational efficiency and lower fuel usage. Delta continues to invest in a fuel-efficient fleet and recently received recognition from the Port of Seattle as having the highest percentage of fuel-efficient aircraft in use at SEA in 2023.

Delta also offers fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi onboard for SkyMiles Members throughout the flight, and all customers can enjoy a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options with Delta Studio movies, TV series, music, podcasts and more.

ONGOING INVESTMENTS IN SEATTLE

In addition to this new service to and from DCA, Delta has focused heavily on establishing SEA as a key gateway to Asia with routes to Tokyo (HND), Seoul (ICN), Shanghai (PVG), and most recently Taipei (TPE). As Seattle’s global airline, Delta offers consumers in the Pacific Northwest the most nonstop travel options to long-haul international destinations.

Customers can look forward to continued enhancements starting in spring 2025 as these routes transition to Airbus A350 aircraft with a total of 306 seats. These updates will provide about 55,000 more seats per year than the A330s currently operating on these routes and will increase premium seat options in Delta One and Delta Premium Select by 40%.

Additionally, in summer 2025, Seattle will become the fourth airport to feature a Delta One Lounge, complemented by the addition of a second Sky Club spanning more than 23,000 square feet on Concourse A.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
