Again, Kenya Airways Passenger Dies

In a development that appears to unsettle passengers and aviation stakeholders, a Kenya Airways passenger has died today at the Jommo Kenyata International Airport Nairobi.

In a statement, Kenya Airways said that the passenger had developed breathing problem while boarding Flight KQ612 scheduled to depart Nairobi for Mombasa at 1900hours.

The statement read: "Kenya Airways regrets to announce that passenger developed breathing problem this evening while boarding KQ612 that was scheduled to depart for Mombasa at 1900hours.

According to the statement, "the passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel at JKIA while the aircraft was still on ground. The JKIA Health and Security agencies are currently handling the issue".

Kenya Airways says it "conveys its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time".

It'll be recalled that another passenger died onboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to New York on 2 September, 2022. Earlier, another passenger passed away mid-flight on August 22 while travelling with Kenya Airways from New York to Nairobi.
