Passenger Dies Onboard Kenya Airways Flight

On a sad note, a passenger has died onboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to New York. This sad incident happened in the early hours of today, 2 September, 2022.

Confirming this development in a statement issued today, Kenya Airways said that the passenger became unresponsive at around 6:30am while travelling on flight KQ002 to New York.

"Kenya Airways PLC (“KQ”) confirms that on Friday, 2nd September 2022, at around 06:30 AM, KQ002, on a scheduled flight from Nairobi to New York, a passenger was found to be unresponsive.

"Upon further examination, medical personnel on board confirmed that the passenger had passed away." the statement said.

Flight KQ002 had departed the Jommo Kenyata International Airport Nairobi as per schedule on Thursday, 1 September 2022, at 11:55 PM enroute the John F Kennedy International Airport, New York.

According to the statement, Kenya Airways conveys its "deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and sincerely apologises to our passengers for the inconvenience."
