Air Cote d’Ivoire has selected the WEFA solution from Safran Electronics & Defense for the capture and the transfer of flight data on its fleet of Airbus A320ceos.

The airline, which is already using Safran’s Cassiopée Flight Data Monitoring solution on its entire fleet, is the first in Africa to install WEFA.

Air Cote d’Ivoire is also the launching airline in Africa for the A320neo, which will be equipped with the system at the end of 2019.

Safran Electronics & Defense’s full flight data management offer is composed of the WEFA system (Wireless Extension For ACMS - Aircraft Condition Monitoring System) together with Cassiopée Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and the ACMS.

The system enables the airlines to receive aircraft data immediately after landing, allowing them to remotely manage their flight data using a secure 3G+ connection, and therefore immediately run investigations on air safety reports and plan maintenance operations ahead.

Air Côte d'Ivoire is the flag carrier of Ivory Coast, based in Abidjan. In July this year it took delivery of its brand new Airbus A320 at a ceremony held at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse, France.

Earlier in February, Air Cote d’Ivoire signed up for inflight passenger connectivity services from SITAONAIR for its brand new A320s in the form of Internet ONAIR and Mobile ONAIR products.

Air Côte d’Ivoire already operates six Airbus aircraft (four A319s and two A320). It currently flies to 5 domestic destinations and 20 international destinations located in West and Central Africa.
