British Airways customers are set to fly even further into more Asian destinations, thanks to a new codeshare agreement with oneworld partner Malaysia Airlines.
The new code which takes effect from October 9, covers 14 destinations in Malaysia, including Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kuantan, Labuan, Miri, Sibu, Kuala Terengganu, Sandakan, Kota Bharu, and Bintulu.
The deal also covers 9 destinations in four other Asian countries including Australia (Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth), New Zealand (Auckland), Indonesia (Denpasar-Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), and Cambodia (Phnom Penh).
In turn, Malaysia Airlines customers will be able to fly with British Airways to Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle via London Heathrow.
Malaysia Airlines will also be able to fly with British Airways to more European destinations including Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Vienna, Brussels, Geneva, Hamburg, Lyon, Toulouse, Paris and Zurich.
Travellers will also be able to through check to their final destination and collect their boarding passes in advance. British Airways Executive Club members will gain enhanced frequent flyer benefits and Avios can be used on reward flights, upgrades, hotels, experiences and for part payment, allowing customers to cut the cost of future British Airways flights.
British Airways currently offers daily flights between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
