A 71-year-old male passenger has died on board an Emirates Airlines early morning flight from Dubai to Manchester, the airline said on Monday.
"Emirates can confirm that a passenger on board today's Emirates flight EK 21 from Dubai to Manchester passed away during the flight," an Emirates spokesperson said. "'Emirates expresses its condolences to the family."
According to the Manchester Evening News, a medical team met the aircraft when it landed at around 7:30 AM, and Manchester Police arrived at the scene shortly after 8 AM and confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances that led to the death of the elderly passenger.
No details about the cause of death have been released, though the man was reportedly ill before the flight.
Passengers disembarked from the plane before the man's body was removed from the aircraft.
