Following the successful launch of five pre-paid meal options for British Airways’ World Traveller (long-haul economy) customers earlier this year, the airline is now set to launch another – Taste of the Far East.
The new option is available for customers travelling long-haul from Heathrow from October 26 and features vegetarian sushi, prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, chicken pay ca paw with egg rice, wok fried vegetables and green tea tiramisu.
‘Taste of the Far East’, which will cost £16, joins the other pre-paid options: ‘Gourmet Dining’, ‘Taste of Britain’, ‘Great British Breakfast’, ‘Healthy Choice’ and ‘Vegetarian Kitchen’, all of which can be pre-booked via ba.com/managemybooking from 30-days prior to travel, right up until 24-hours before departure at a cost of between £15 and £18.
Colin Talbot, British Airways’ head of catering, said: “So far Gourmet Dining, with its poached king prawns, followed by beef cheek and then chocolate ganache for dessert, is proving to be our most popular dish, but we believe Taste of the Far East could be a contender for that title. We’ve made sure the flavours are really authentic and it will give our customers another option to treat themselves to.”
Each dish has been specially designed to taste great at 30,000ft, combining current food trends and good quality ingredients to offer customers a real variety of options.
