Domestic carrier, Africa World Airlines, is set to begin two daily night flights from Accra to Kumasi International Airport from January 23, 2015 -- a first in the local airline industry.
A release from the airline says the new daily route is aimed at "expanding options for Ghanaian domestic travelers".
The recently adjudged 'Ghana Tourism Board’s Domestic Airline of the Year 2014' says the initiative "will mark the launch of an entirely new venture into scheduled night time operations to and from our domestic airports."
The night flights, to be operated by flights AW 120 and 122, represent additions to AWA’s daily Accra to Kumasi flights and is expected to allow same day connections from Europe to Kumasi via Accra.
The flight's schedule allows for connections to AWA’s flights to and from Frankfurt, South Africa, Amsterdam, London and Istanbul and opens up other convenient travel opportunities to our passengers.
Special flight packages to and from Kumasi and Accra with fares representative and taxes start at GH¢200.
Africa World Airlines will also commence non-stop flights from Kumasi to Lagos from February 28, 2015.
