Daniel Falodun of  University of Lagos (UNILAG) has emerged winner of  the 2025 Cape Town Convention (CTC) Moot Court Competition, defeating Eloho Tolulope Okandeji of University of Benin,  after a highly engaging final session.

The grand finale, organized by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, in collaboration with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Aviation Working Group (AWG), was held on November 12, 2025 at the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja.

The initiative, which aligns with broader efforts to strengthen legal capacity in Nigeria’s aviation sector, is aimed at helping participants better understand both the legal as well as financial structures that guide aircraft leasing, financing and repossession across jurisdictions.

No fewer than 18 universities participated in the fiercely contested structured courtroom simulations.

The national competition is aimed at bridging academic knowledge and real-world legal practice in aviation, providing a viable opportunity for students to sharpen their advocacy, legal research, and analytical skills while gaining exposure to one of the most important global instruments in aviation finance.
