UK Department for Transport Begins Aviation Safety Assessment in Lagos

The United Kingdom Department for Transport (DfT) Aviation Security (AVSEC) team has begun a three-day operations assessment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA), Lagos.

The aviation security operational assessment, scheduled for 4th to 6th August, 2026, will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of AVSEC measures currently in place at Airport.

In addition, it is to assess security procedures applied to aircraft operating into the United Kingdom from MMIA, Ikeja; namely, Air Peace, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.
