Uganda Airlines is putting finishing touches to its plans to launch international operations to key destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The East African carrier is currently undergoing the process of certifying its new Airbus A330-800neo aircraft with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

Uganda Airlines plans to initially deploy the Airbus A330-800neo on direct flights from Entebbe to London (United Kingdom), Dubai (UAE), Mumbai (India), and Guangzhou (China). Meanwhile, the airline is also in the process of obtaining the necessary permits and requirements to commence flights to these destinations. It has already secured landing slots at London Heathrow Airport as well as Dubai International Airport.

The dates for the launch of service to each of the destinations as well as the flight schedules will be announced by the airline soon. Uganda Airlines is the first African airline to fly the Airbus A330-800neo. It will be recalled that the airline took delivery of its first Airbus A330-800neo in December, 2020. It took delivery of the second in February, 2021.
