TAAG Angola Moves All Int'l Operations to New Airport

TAAG Angola Airlines will fully transfer all international flight operations to the New International Airport, Dr. António Agostinho Neto (NBJ), effective Sunday, October 19, 2025. This strategic move marks the final chapter in the phased transition process, representing a historic milestone for the aviation ecosystem in Angola.

For the airline, consolidating flight operations into one single airport provides significant operational efficiency, fleet management synergies, and improved customer experience. Thus, TAAG Angola Airlines is empowering the nationwide strategy to establish Luanda and Icolo & Bengo as hubs within Southern Africa.

Passengers are now advised that, from 19 October onwards, all departing and arriving flights concerning Lisbon (Portugal), São Paulo (Brazil), Johannesburg, Cape Town (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria), Windhoek (Namibia), São Tomé (São Tomé and Príncipe), Maputo (Mozambique), Nairobi (Kenya), and seasonal routes such as Porto (Portugal) and Havana (Cuba) will be operated exclusively from the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ), just as domestic links, Brazzaville and Kinshasa connections are already operated there.

As best practice, passengers should plan their journey to the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport well in advance to ensure the necessary time for check-in, boarding, and similar procedures, as the airport is in the outskirts of Luanda, namely in Bom Jesus, Icolo, and Bengo Province.

During the transition period, TAAG will provide a shuttle service between the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport (AIL) and the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) to accommodate the mobility of transit passengers whose itinerary legs involve airlines not yet based at NBJ. Regular updates to passengers will be shared by TAAG Angola Airlines' official channels, as well as via travel agencies partnering with the company.
