South African Airways Becomes Official Carrier for Running With Sole

RunningWithSoleAC has partnered with South African Airways (SAA) as the official airline for the Ultimate Human Race, Comrades Marathon happening on Sunday, 11 June 2023 in Durban, South Africa.

Under the partnership, members of the RunningWithSoleAC club who will be supporting the athletes taking part in Comrades Marathon will enjoy discounted rates on SAA flights between Durban and Johannesburg.

"Air travel is convenient and with just a short 45-minute flight (one way) we are ensuring our members travel safely and return home to their families post Comrades Marathon," says Tumi Sole, Founder and Chairman of RunningWithSole Athletics Club.

"SAA has been in the forefront of partnering with various sporting events during their 89 years of flight operations. South African Airways currently flies to 10 regional destination, including Accra in Ghana, Lilongwe and Blantyre in Malawi, Mauritius, Lagos in Nigeria, Kinshasa in DRC. Lusaka in Zambia, Victoria Falls and Harare in Zimbabwe, Windhoek in Namibia and 2 domestic routes (Cape Town and Durban) from their hub in Johannesburg.

Through their code share partners and Star Alliance partners, South African Airways also has access to destinations across 1,250 airports in 195 countries, which include other parts of Africa, Middle East, Asia, Europe, Australia and North and South America.

RunningWithSoleAC is a running club registered with Central Gauteng Athletics. The club comprises of various runners of diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to, Engineers, Cashiers, Medical Doctors, Waitresses, Attorneys, Project Managers and Clinical Psychologists.
