Royal Air Maroc has commenced a new direct flight between Casablanca and Toronto, Canada, expanding its presence in North America.
The inaugural flight took off from the Mohammed V International Airport, Casablanca on Sunday, carrying 204 passengers. The first return flight from Toronto carried nearly 275 passengers.
The new route will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using a modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Flights depart from Casablanca at 4:45 pm and arrive toronto at 7:25 pm. Return flights leave Toronto at 9:30 pm and land in Casablanca at 10:50 am the following day. All times are local.
According to the airline, the new route meets a long-standing need for Moroccan residents in Canada and adds to the airline’s existing Casablanca-Montreal route, which has been operating since 1975.
The new route also strengthens the airline’s network in the Americas, which already includes direct flights to New York, Washington, Miami in the US, and Sao Paulo in Brazil.
The new Casablanca-Toronto route is part of Roya Air Maroc’s plan to boost tourism to Morocco and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
