Nigeria Commits to Digital Aviation with ICAO AIM RBIS Workshop

The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo has launched a crucial five-day workshop in Abuja from June 23 to 27, 2025, under the ICAO AIM Result-Based Implementation Support (RBIS) Project, marking Nigeria's strong commitment to aviation modernization. ‎


In his opening address, Capt. Najomo emphasized the importance of digital innovation in enhancing air navigation services and regulatory alignment by transitioning from traditional Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) to a modern Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) system.


ICAO WACAF’s representative, Mr. Fanfe Bamba, delivered remarks on behalf of the Regional Director, extolling Nigeria’s leadership and reaffirming ICAO’s support under the AFI Plan. ‎


‎Engr. Godwin Balang praised the DGCA’s visionary leadership, stressing the role of the workshop in NCAA’s digital transformation. ‎


In attendance were participants from FAAN, NAMA, NiMet, NCAT, and WACAF member states.
