NCAA Takes Upskilling Program to Kaduna with AUDP Sessions

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has extended its Aviation Upskilling Development Programme (AUDP) to the Kaduna Regional Office, continuing its nationwide effort to enhance the aviation talent pool.

The two-day program, which began on July 3, 2025, welcomed participants from the Ifira Community in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The initiative aims to expose youths and underrepresented groups to aviation career opportunities while equipping them with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

The event was hosted by Mr. Vongtau Lulufa Kundul, Regional Manager, NCAA Kaduna, who encouraged participants to make the most of the opportunity. Representing the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Dr. (Mrs.) Anastasia Gbem, Mrs. Kanma Ahungwa highlighted the programme’s impact in previous locations, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Kano Regional offices.

Outlining its focus on tackling workforce paucity, regional disparities, and gender gaps in the industry. The sessions covered aviation awareness, entrepreneurship, and mentorship, with special emphasis on empowering women and youths.

In his remarks, the Village Head of Ifira, Alhaji Balarabe Garba, thanked the Management of NCAA for bringing the programme to their doorstep. He noted that this was the first time such an initiative was being held in the community and appealed to the organisers to extend his gratitude to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo. He described the programme as a transformative gesture that would leave a lasting impact on their women and youths.
