NCAA Presents Unmanned Systems Operator Certificate to Mekatron & Persones

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator Certificate (UOC) to Mekatron & Persones, authorizing the company to commence Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations in Nigeria.
The presentation ceremony, held on the 10th June, 2026 at the Authority’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, was led by the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo.
While congratulating the company, the DGCA noted that the seamless certification process aligns with the Federal Government’s policy on Ease of Doing Business.
He added that the Authority would continue to intensify its surveillance and monitoring activities to ensure sustained compliance with regulatory requirements.
In his response, the Accountable Manager of Mekatron & Persones, Amb. Haliru Bello Dogondaji, expressed appreciation to the NCAA team for its professionalism throughout the certification process.
He reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest operational and safety standards, and assured that the certificate would be utilized responsibly and effectively.
Amb. Haliru Bello Dogondaji was accompanied by the Managing Director, Miss Fatima Zarah Bello.
In attendance from the NCAA were Director of Airworthiness Standards and Chairman of the Flight Standards Group, Engr. Godwin Balang; General Manager, General Aviation (Operations), Capt. Maikano Wilson Tijo; Deputy General Manager, Air Traffic Management (ATM), Mr Bakam Amin Baranzan; and other members of staff.
