NCAA Asks Air Peace to Cut Operations According to Fleet Size

The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo has directed Air Peace to immediately improve its domestic operations. The warning follows numerous complaints of chronic flight delays and cancellations by the travelling public.

Captain Najomo gave the charge during a heated meeting with the management of Air Peace in Abuja today, 2 May, 2025. Najomo advised Air Peace to trim its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet to mitigate the crisis.

The representatives of Air Peace at the meeting acknowledged that the airline has some challenges that are not unusual in the industry, but they are working round the clock to fix them.

The DGCA asserted that, while the NCAA will continue to support the airlines, the operators must comply with the regulations and global best practices.

Capt. Najomo warned that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is increasing its monitoring oversight of flight operations of all airlines across Nigeria to ensure compliance.

In recent times, Air Peace has been caught up in a web of incessant flight delays and outright cancellations. The airline has often cited 'unscheduled aircraft maintenance', 'bird strike' and 'bad weather' as the causes of these disruptions.
