The Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Authority’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja, inaugurated the Quality Assurance Team as part of efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight, enhance compliance, and institutionalize global best practices across the aviation sector.

He described the initiative as a strategic milestone aimed at reinforcing safety, transparency, and operational excellence within the Authority, aligning with the drive to achieve ISO 9001 Certification.

The newly inaugurated team, drawn from multiple directorates, is expected to drive continuous improvement across the Authority by identifying gaps, enforcing standards, and ensuring that aviation safety oversight processes meet international requirements.

In another development, Capt. Najomo formally commissioned the Electronics Project Portfolio Management System (EPPMS), describing it as a transformative tool designed to modernize project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery across the Authority.

According to him, the EPPMS is in alignment with global best practices, and supports the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda, particularly in promoting transparency, accountability, and value for money in public sector spending.

The programmes, which have in attendance NCAA management team, and other senior staff members, were coordinated by the Directorate of Special Duties led by Dr. (Mrs) Augustina Erah.
