TAAG Angola Airlines has apologised to passengers affected by the cancellation of its Cape Town-Luanda service today due to a technical issue experienced by one of its aircraft.

Earlier today, a TAAG Angola Airlines Boeing 737 operating Flight DT 579 from Luanda to Cape Town experienced a technical problem on landing at the Cape Town International Airport.

Consequently, the outbound flight from Cape Town to Luanda was canceled by the airline while the maintenance team is working to return the aircraft to service.

"TAAG Angola Airlines sincerely apologizes to our passengers and other affected airlines for the inconvenience." the airline said in a statement.

According to the airline, the affected passengers have been provided with accommodation in Cape Town as they will be flying to Luanda tomorrow morning.

The TAAG Angola Airlines Boeing 737 reportedly developed hydraulic failure on landing at CapeTown airport, leaving hydraulic fluid on the runway. The incident caused delays for arriving and departing flights.
