Jambojet has unveiled a new Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC), marking a major step in strengthening its operational backbone as the airline scales for its next phase of growth.
The centralised facility brings together critical operational functions into a single, coordinated environment, enabling real-time decision-making and allowing the airline to respond faster to disruptions, improve turnaround times, and maintain schedule reliability across its network.
The launch comes at an important time for the airline, as it marks several key moments, including the arrival of its 11th aircraft, Njiwa (5Y-JXP), which will help increase flights and seat capacity, as well as its 12-year anniversary. Together, these milestones show Jambojet’s focus on growing its network and improving service as it plans for the future of aviation in Kenya.
“The Integrated Operations Control Centre is a key milestone in strengthening how we operate as we scale,” said Karanja Ndegwa, CEO and Managing Director of Jambojet. “Together with the addition of our 11th aircraft, it enables us to improve reliability, increase capacity, and deliver a better experience for our customers. We remain focused on sustaining high standards of reliability and efficiency as we continue to grow.”
With a 53% market share, Jambojet has maintained its position as a trusted market leader in Kenya’s domestic aviation sector, with ambitions to further grow its market share in the coming years by continuously investing in systems, people, and assets to support long-term success.
As Jambojet expands its network, its role goes beyond air travel. The airline is helping businesses access new markets, boosting tourism in emerging destinations, and making regional travel more accessible. This growth reflects a clear focus: connecting people to real opportunities and supporting the economic life of the region it serves.
“Today is not just about adding capacity; it is about strengthening the system behind the capacity,” said Ayisi Makatiani, Chairman of Jambojet. “In aviation, growth is only meaningful when it’s matched by reliability, discipline and the ability to execute consistently. Investments such as the IOCC and continued fleet expansion position us to strengthen our market leadership and play a greater role in shaping the future of aviation in Kenya and across the region.”
His Excellency Dr. Joshua Tabah, High Commissioner of Canada to Kenya, added: “Jambojet stands out as one of the few success stories in the aviation sector across sub-Saharan Africa, driven by a disciplined approach to growth and operational efficiency. Its investment in a world-class operations control centre and a consistent fleet strategy positions it strongly for the future. By offering reliable and affordable air travel, Jambojet is not only strengthening connectivity within Kenya, but also setting a benchmark for what a modern low-cost airline can achieve in the region.”
As demand for efficient domestic and regional logistics grows, capabilities such as the IOCC will play a critical role in strengthening the Jambojet’s position as a regional connector for both passengers and cargo.
