ITA Airways to Launch Flights to Dakar, Senegal

ITA Airways is expanding its presence in Africa with planned launch of scheduled flights to Dakar, Senegal. This is coming 16 years after its predecessor, Alitalia, stopped flying to the West African destination, in March 2008.

According to AeroRoutes, ITA Airways will, in Northern summer 2024, launch direct flights between Rome Fiumicino Airport and Dakar Blaise Diagne International Airport. The inaugural flight will be operated on 3 July, 2024.

The service will operate four times a week using an Airbus A321neo aircraft. Flight AZ854 will leave Rome Fiumicino at 15:30 and arrive Dakar at 19:30. Flight AZ855 will depart Dakar at 23:40 and arrive Rome Fiumicino at 7:20 the following morning. All times are local.

When launched, Dakar will become ITA Airways fifth destination in Africa. The Italian airline currently flies to four destinations in Africa, including Cairo, Algiers, Accra, and Tunis.
