It's Official: India's IndiGo Launches Flights to Kenya

India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has officially announced that it will launch scheduled flights to its first destination in Africa. The airline will launch flights between Mumbai and Nairobi, Kenya from 5 August, 2023.

The non-stop service will operate daily using an Airbus A320 aircraft. Return fares start at ₹28,990. When launched, Nairobi will become IndiGo's 27th international destination from Mumbai.

Nairobi is the lively and dynamic capital city of Kenya. It has a captivating combination of metropolitan energy and natural splendour. It is one of the largest cities in East Africa and is a hub for commerce, culture, and tourism. With many national parks and wildlife reserves, it is a popular destination for safaris and other outdoor activities.

Based in Delhi, IndiGo is the largest airline in India with a domestic market share of more than 57% and over 1,800 daily flights. It currently operates a fleet of 264 aircraft to over 100 destinations.

IndiGo is in the middle of a major route and fleet expansion. Just last week, the airline placed a record aircraft order with Airbus, setting the record for the biggest single purchase agreement in the history of commercial aviation.
