Ibom Air Suspends Flight Operations to Bayelsa Airport

Nigeria's Ibom Air has temporarily suspended scheduled flight operations to Yenagoa, the capital city of the oil-rich Bayelsa State in the South-South region of Nigeria. The suspension is with immediate effect.

According to the airline, the suspension was due to unscheduled maintenance on its aircraft. The projected maintenance period should not last longer than a week, according to Ibom Air.

While apologizing for the impact the flight suspension will have on its customers' travel plans, the airline said it would revert in good time to keep passengers updated.

Intending passengers are kindly advised to make alternative travel plans, including rescheduling their flight to a later date or choosing to reroute their journeys via Port Harcourt Airport.

The airline also assured that customers who want refunds can get assistance from the airline’s staff at the airport.

Established in 2019 by the Akwa Ibom State Government, Ibom Air currently operates a fleet of 7 aircraft, including 5 Bombardier CRJ 900 and 2 Airbus A220-300, to 7 destinations.
