Franschhoek Drives Winter Demand with Midweek Staycation

As winter settles over the Cape Winelands, Franschhoek Wine Valley (FWV) reinforces its commitment to local tourism with the launch of its Midweek Staycation 2026 - an initiative designed to stimulate off-peak travel while delivering exceptional value for South African residents.

Running from 1 June to 15 September 2026, the campaign highlights the valley’s quieter season - where fireside moments, fine wines and a celebrated culinary culture set the tone for a slower, more rewarding escape.

Long lunches, leisurely strolls along the village’s main road and time spent browsing Franschhoek’s boutiques, galleries and speciality stores further enhance the staycation offering.

Participating properties include Wildeberg, La Ferme, Neighbourgood Franschhoek, Ashbourne House Guesthouse, Chapter House Boutique Hotel, Plumwood Boutique Hotel, Stony Brook Cottages, Kilima Franschhoek, Rickety Bridge Wine Estate, Cape Vue Country House and L’Ermitage Franschhoek Chateau & Villas.

Each package is structured around a “Stay 3, Pay 2” offer for two guests sharing and includes accommodation, dinner, wine tasting for two and a R500 FWV voucher redeemable at participating businesses.
