Determined to squeeze out every last drop of sun and fun this summer? Avra – the all-new destination bar at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens – will be playing host to a Summer-Ever-After Party at its Great Sunday Club from 7:30 pm on September 17, 2023.

This is a soaring celebration of endless summer days on the Athens Riviera, made all the more special by the presence of two guest bartenders, Patrick Pistolesi and Emanuel Minez, from award-winning bars Drink Kong, Rome and Red Frog, Lisbon.

With September one of the best months to visit Greece, expect a balmy evening soaking up a sensational sunset alongside an exclusive one-night-only menu of unique creations from Avra and the visiting mixology maestros. Eclectic “Island Vibes” décor spreads rays of sunshine of its own, while a DJ channels summer’s upbeat energy.

Relaunched in May 2023, Avra is a sea-view sanctuary famed for its seasonal cocktails, elevated bar snacks, great DJs, and laidback celebration of life’s good times. Headed by modern-day alchemist Manon Kapfer, the vibe is high, with Avra’s Summer-Ever-After drinks menu the perfect example of the bar’s trademark innovative blend of tropical flavours - from Miami Vice, a mix of frozen Strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colada, to Jungle Bird, a joyful fusion of Matusalem 7 Years Rum, Select Aperitivo, pineapple and lime.

Known for his forward-thinking and utterly unexpected mixology style, bartender, brand ambassador and drinks consultant Patrick Pistolesi is the founder of Drink Kong, a hip cocktail bar near Rome’s centre merging Japanese street style, ‘70s futurism and King Kong with a daring cocktail menu. His Summer-Ever-After creations are crafted in collaboration with French family-run business Merlet, which has been distilling cognac using the finest quality French fruits since 1850.

The bright and bold Bowie blends eau de vigne with troi citrus and blue curaçao; Peach B@#ch is an innovative blend of cognac, creme de pêche, Campari and citrus; the vibrant Bonifacio fuses gin and Aderisse bitter with abricot, grapefruit and citric; and the Clover Martini is a sharp and fruity twist on a classic with a mix of eau de vigne, creme de framboise and raspberry cordial.

Joining Pistolesi behind the bar is Emanuel Minez, renowned for his boundary-pushing modernist takes on cocktail classics. His iconic bar Red Frog caused a sensation when it opened in 2015, revolutionising Lisbon’s cocktail scene and becoming the first-ever Portuguese bar to reach the World’s 50 Best. Minez’s Summer-Ever-After concoctions, crafted in collaboration with Arette Tequila, Martin Miller's Gin and Michter's American Whiskey, harness sizzling summer feels.

The refreshing, effervescent Star Fizz features a blend of Martin Millers, St-Germain, cucumber, lemon and Champagne; the fresh and aromatic Paloma unites Arette Blanco, fermented grapefruit and Three Cents Pink Grapefruit Soda; and the sweet and smooth American Gangster fuses Michter’s Bourbon Whiskey, Malmsey Madeira wine, Amaro blend and coffee maple.
