FlyGabon, the national airline of Gabon, has launched scheduled flights connecting Libreville with Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city and the bustling heart of West Africa. The inaugural flight took off on April 17, 2026.
This new route will see flights operating four times a week—on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using a modern two-class Airbus A320.
Fadimatou Noutchemo Simo, the airline’s Country Manager for Cameroon and Nigeria, emphasized that FlyGabon is entering the Lagos market with a focus on schedule reliability, safety, and competitive fares designed to support both business and leisure travel between Lagos and other destinations in their network.
Speaking in Lagos, Fadimatou said, "We come in with 20 years of experience. We have a 100% privately managed airline with the target of providing to the Nigerian market and Lagos reliability and safety to facilitate businesses, movements of travellers and entrepreneurs."
With the new service, FlyGabon aims to offer Nigerian travellers seamless and reliable connectivity to key destinations in its network via its hub in Libreville. The airline also aims to reduce travel time from Lagos to Johannesburg, South Africa, to less than 8 hours.
It is worth mentioning that FlyGabon initially entered the Nigerian market in early 2025 with a direct flight between Libreville and Port Harcourt, which was inaugurated on January 21, 2025. Lagos now joins the expanding network of this airline.
Established two decades ago, FlyGabon currently serves 6 domestic and 15 regional destinations, including Douala, Yaoundé, Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire, Kinshasa, Bangui, São Tomé, Principe Island, Malabo, Bata, Benghazi, Cotonou, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Johannesburg.
