The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, in conjunction with the Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative-ART (ASRI), on December 1, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, hosted a national celebration as part of the activities to commemorate 100 years of aviation in Nigeria.

The centenary celebration, marking a century of progress and industry transformation, featured goodwill messages, keynote speeches, documentary presentations, and the unveiling of commemorative projects.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, stated that the anniversary is both a tribute to the pioneers of Nigerian aviation, and an affirmation of the ministry’s commitment to building a safer, stronger, more competitive, and more innovative aviation future.

During the celebration, the Ministry of Aviation honoured 40 distinguished individuals, comprising administrators, pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, and industry leaders, whose outstanding contributions helped shape the sector over the decades.
