Ethiopian Airlines Resumes Passenger Flights to Bengaluru

Following the relaxation of COVID-19 rules, Ethiopian Airlines has resumed scheduled passenger flights to Bengaluru, India as of 27 March 2022.

The three weekly nonstop service between Addis Ababa and Bengaluru is operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays using a Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

Ethiopian Airlines is a significant player in connecting India and Africa and beyond. The addition of Bengaluru is vital in meeting the increased demands of air travel between India and Africa

The increasing flight frequencies and number of destinations in India will facilitate trade, investment and tourism to/from the Indian sub-continent.

The flights to Bengaluru connect passengers through the airline’s hub in Addis Ababa with short connections and provides the fastest and the shortest connections between Bengaluru in southern India and more than 60 destinations in Africa.

It will be recalled that Ethiopian Airlines originally launched flights to Bengaluru in October 2019. However, the airline suspended the service in 2020 following the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Ethiopian Airlines operates passenger flights to Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru as well as cargo service to Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, Bengaluru is dubbed ‘Silicon Valley of India’ and serves as the center of technology and innovation.
