Ethiopian Increases Frequency to Abuja with Special Offers

Africa's biggest carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, is set to increase flight frequencies to Abuja, Nigeria. Starting from 28 October 2025, the airline will operate three extra flights to the Nigeria's capital city.

The 3 extra weekly flights will operate alongside the existing daily flights to Abuja. The extra flights will be in the evening while the daily flight stays at midday.

Passengers from Abuja will have increased options as the extra flights will offer immediate connection to many African and Asian destinations that reduce the total hours of flight time for passengers.

The extra flights from Abuja do not just offer more flights, it comes with extra benefits. More baggage allowance, "You can also get double double miles if you fly with us," says the area manager of Ethiopian Airlines Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen. The extra baggage allowance is for passengers going to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras and Dubai.

There will be three evening flights at 10 pm. The daily midday flight will not change. Only the additional flights will have different times. There will be evening departures at 10PM from Abuja and arrival in Addis at 5AM, connecting all African destinations as well as Dubai, Sao Paulo, Tel Aviv and some other destinations.

According to the Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Nigeria, Mrs Firiehiwot Mekonnen "we are offering these extra benefits to reward our loyal passengers as we offer more flights and options out of Abuja. These extra flights help us improve service delivery and reduce costs for travellers. Most of our passengers  will now arrive their destinations faster."

Ethiopian Airlines has been flying to Nigeria since 1960. It has served the market with the newest aircraft in the world, including the A350-1000 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airline connects Abuja, Lagos, Enugu and Kano to over 150 global destinations.

Abuja is one of the most popular cities in Africa for Meetings Incentives Conferences and Events/Exhibitions (MICE). The city is fast becoming an important destination for international conferences and meetings. Recently, the Government of Nigeria re- opened the Abuja International conference Centre to join other facilities offered by hotels in Abuja.
