Emirates Celebrates UAE Eid Al Etihad with Sweet Treats

Honouring the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad on 2 December, Emirates is marking the occasion with a cultural celebration in Emirates Group Headquarters, regional sweet treats inflight for customers, an array of Emirati specialities in the Emirates Lounges of Dubai, and a library of local sustainability stories, celebrated Emirati music, podcasts and movies on ice.

The festivities began with a dedicated UAE Eid Al Etihad celebration in the Emirates Group Headquarters, Dubai on the 28 November. Sir Tim Clark, Emirates' President, commemorated the day with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a tour of the heritage village, regional handicraft and artefact display, interactive cultural activities and live performance organised for Group employees.

UAE Eid Al Etihad is celebrated on 2 December to mark the union of the seven emirates and the collective journey towards the future, as the nation embraces sustainability and collaborative action as cornerstones of progress.

Emirates customers can learn more about Dubai’s commitments to sustainable practices with multiple episodes on ice, including dedicated food sustainability programmes on Hatta Strawberry Farm and the renowned oysters of Dibba Bay.

In the Dubai & UAE category on ice, there are episodes on art and design from Tashkeel, featuring Emirati architect Reema Al Mheiri, who explores bio-materiality and regenerative design, as well as architectural sustainability, where Emirati architect Ahmed Bukhash harnesses ancient wisdom to combat extreme weather and sun intensity.

Emirates customers onboard flights departing Dubai between 2-4 December will be given an Emirati-inspired sweet treat in a mini giftbox, while the aircraft interior is lit up in the colours of the UAE flag. First, Business and Premium Economy Class customers will enjoy a duo of loomi cheesecake and chocolate cardamom brownie, while Economy Class customers can relish chocolate and date truffles.

In the Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge,  customers can savour the flavours of the region with pistachio and hibiscus namoura, date cake, aseeda cake, pumpkin cake with candied corn flakes and crispy pearls or cardamom cake and date slice with dried rose petals.

In Emirates First Class Lounges in Dubai, customers can feast on traditional Emirati chicken machbous followed by an array of tempting desserts including karak profiteroles, Umm Ali spheres, lommie kabeese cheesecake and Emirati luqaimat served with date syrup and pistachio sauce.

In the Business Class Lounges, Emirati style lamb ouzi made with locally sourced lamb, mint raitha and dakkus will be served, while delectable treats will be displayed including Arabic coffee deliceloomi and rose profiteroles, guerss ugaili cardamom sesame financiers and burnt gahwa chocolate tarts.

Customers in both First and Business Class lounges can also treat themselves to a refreshing ice-cream from the Emirates ice-cream cart, homemade in the locally sourced flavours of Halwa and Arabic coffee. Celebrating the sustainability ethos of the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad, Emirates Lounges highlights a range of locally sourced products including local luqaimat from Ajman and date syrup from Sharjah.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
