Emirates is bringing the spirit of Brazil’s Carnival to the skies with a specially-curated selection of Brazilian-inspired dishes and entertainment on flights between Dubai and Brazil, giving customers a taste of one of the most celebrated events on the Brazilian cultural calendar.

The special offering will be available to customers travelling on flights to and from Brazil, between 13 and 21 February.

Passengers flying across all cabins on Emirates’ flights between Dubai and Sao Paolo, in addition to Dubai and Rio de Janeiro will be treated to traditional savoury dishes and desserts that celebrate classic Brazilian cuisine. Passengers flying onwards from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires will also join in the in-flight festivities.

In First Class and Business Class, customers will enjoy traditional Brazilian fare including braised beef short ribs, served with garlic sauce, coriander pesto rice, roasted courgettes, peppers and plantain chips, reflecting the hearty and festive spirit of Carnival.

Premium Economy customers will enjoy braised veal cheek with similar accompaniments, while Economy Class customers can relish Picadinho de Carnival, a Brazilian-style beef dish served with coriander rice, roasted plantain and grilled pepper.

Dessert on Brazil-bound flights will feature a rich brigadeiro cheesecake, topped with ganache and paired with coconut vanilla anglaise, guava and passion fruit coulis — a sweet homage to Brazil’s beloved confection.

Customers travelling in premium cabins to Sao Paolo, on Emirates’ iconic A380, can also indulge in a special banana bundt cake and a spread of other sweet treats  as they socialise at the A380’s Onboard Lounge.

On the return journey from Brazil to Dubai, the Carnival celebration continues with more beloved local dishes to enjoy. In First Class and Business Class, customers will be served grilled filet mignon with biquinho pepper sauce, sautéed kale, roasted pumpkin, palm heart and Brazilian-style rice with beans and vegetables.

Premium Economy customers will enjoy braised beef short ribs with rich biquinho pepper sauce and local accompaniments, while Economy Class customers can enjoy braised beef in onion sauce with steamed rice, sautéed kale, farofa, pickled biquinho peppers and stewed black beans.

Appetisers on Dubai-bound services include smoked white fish with coriander sauce and mango relish in premium cabins, and a vibrant cauliflower salad in Premium Economy and Economy.

Desserts celebrate tropical flavours, with fruit tartlets served with brigadeiro and mango coulis for First and Business Class, and manjar branco, a Brazilian coconut cream dessert, in Premium Economy and Economy cabins. Customers in the A380’s Onboard Lounge on flights from Sao Paulo will also enjoy orange cake with white chocolate sauce and a fruit skewer.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
