Delta Bets on Europe with New Routes From Detroit and Boston

Europe is calling, and Delta is adding more ways and more time to experience it. New nonstop service from Detroit to Athens and Boston to Venice will join Delta’s previously announced route from Austin to Paris.

The airline is also extending its transatlantic season, with several popular routes starting earlier in the spring or continuing deeper into the fall and winter. 

In addition to Delta's nonstop destinations, partnerships with Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic and other airline partners give customers access to hundreds of destinations across Europe through a seamless travel experience. 

Boston says “ciao” to Venice

Delta will also add four-times-weekly nonstop service between Boston and Venice beginning May 7, 2027, with flights operating through Oct. 29.

Venice will become Delta’s 13th unique long-haul destination from Boston during the peak summer season and its 12th destination in continental Europe.

Boston will also become Delta’s third U.S. gateway to Venice, offering connections to nearly 20 destinations across the United States. In addition, service from Boston to Milan will increase to daily in 2027.

The new route further strengthens Delta’s leading service to Italy, with up to 17 peak-day departures from the U.S. and more than 30,000 nonstop seats to Italy each week.

As Boston’s No. 1 carrier, Delta continues to expand the city’s role as a gateway to Europe. Boston is Delta’s closest U.S. hub to Europe, making it ideally positioned to connect customers across the U.S. with destinations across the Atlantic. 

The new Venice service will operate on a widebody aircraft, giving customers more space and choice of product experiences. The route will be operated aboard an Airbus A330-300 featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. 

Detroit meets Athens

Beginning June 8, 2027, Delta will launch three-times-weekly nonstop service between Detroit and Athens, operating through Oct. 28. 

Athens will become Delta’s 12th unique long-haul destination from Detroit during the peak summer season, as well as its seventh destination in continental Europe. The new flight will also make Detroit Delta’s fourth U.S. gateway to the Greek capital.

With connections available to more than 40 U.S. destinations through Detroit, the route will open a convenient new path to Greece for customers across Delta’s network.

Flights will operate aboard an Airbus A330-200 featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main experiences.  

From Austin to Paris, with amour

The two new routes join Delta’s previously announced daily service from Austin to Paris, launching March 27, 2027. It will be Austin’s first-ever nonstop service to Paris and will give customers one-stop access to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa through Delta’s partnership with Air France-KLM.

Daily summer-season service will operate between Austin (AUS) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) starting March 27, 2027, on Delta's Airbus A330-900. 

The daily flight will operate aboard an Airbus A330-900neo featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. 

More time to explore Europe 

Delta is also extending the European travel season in 2027, giving customers more opportunities to visit popular destinations and more flexibility to travel during the spring and fall months. 

Seasonal service from Minneapolis-St. Paul and Detroit to Rome will begin in early March, followed by Seattle-Rome in April. Flights from New York-JFK to Catania, Porto, Prague and Copenhagen will also return earlier, as will service connecting Boston and Seattle with Barcelona and Atlanta with Edinburgh.

Several routes will feature increased or extended service as well. Detroit-Rome and New York-JFK-Copenhagen will operate daily when they resume, while Cincinnati-Paris service will continue three times weekly from January through March.

With new routes and an extended transatlantic season, Delta is giving customers more options, greater flexibility and easier access to destinations across Europe.
