Bleisure: Africa Tourism Board Partners with Africa Celebrates

Who says you cannot mix business with pleasure? Wait until you attend the 2023 edition of Africa Celebrates. For the 3rd year in a row, Africa Tourism Board is partnering with Africa Celebrates to deliver Africa’s biggest cultural, tourism, and business event.

The working relationship between both organizations started in 2021. Africa Celebrates 2023 is scheduled to hold from 25 - 29 October at the African Union and Skylight Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In an official statement issued from its headquarters in South Africa, the Chairman of Africa Tourism Board, Cuthbert Ncube said: “Our commitment as ATB is to advance shared values and objectives with Africa Celebrates such as promoting social causes, raising awareness, fostering community engagements and achieving sustainable development goals through art, culture, heritage, fashion, cuisines, films, women and youth empowerment. This partnership strives to bring Africa and the rest of the world closer together by strengthening the African tourism sector, cultural exchange and businesses through Africa Celebrates’’.

Mr Ncube continued ‘’During our collaboration in the last 2 years, we have come to realize a common synergy between ATB and Africa Celebrates in our values, our missions, our aspirations and together we will be driving meaningful change”

Africa Celebrates is aimed at celebrating Africa’s unity in diversity, fostering integration through our rich cultural heritage which can be explored as a catalyst for our social economic growth, promote intra and inter African trade and tourism and encourage Africans and the rest of world to patronize “Made in Africa” by eating our food, wearing our clothes, appreciating our music, dance, films, arts, crafts and heritage.

The theme for Africa Celebrates 2023 is “Achieving African Integration through Art, Culture, Heritage, Tech & Business Leveraging on AFCFTA Implementation’’ . This aligns with the African Union theme of the year.

According to Lexy Mojo-Eyes, the President and CEO of Legendary Gold Limited, organizers of Africa Celebrates ‘’ The good thing about Africa Celebrates is “As we welcome new partners every year, we have been able to maintain a consistent collaboration with all our old partners and ATB is one of them."
