Tanzania’s skies are set to grow busier following the arrival of Air Tanzania third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, named, The Great Serengeti Migration.
The aircraft was received with ceremony at Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport on 20th August 2024 by President of Zanzibar, H.E. Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, on behalf of H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
More than a fleet expansion, the new Dreamliner strengthens the airline’s long-haul capabilities, paving the way for new international routes and expanded cargo services. We are not just adding capacity; we are adding ambition. This aircraft supports growth in tourism, high-value cargo, and employment for Tanzanians,” said Eng. Ladislaus Matindi, Managing Director of Air Tanzania.
Minister for Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa, echoed that sentiment, noting the investment is part of a wider national strategy to build long-term economic resilience through stronger air connectivity.
