Air Tanzania Commences New Service to Mtwara

Air Tanzania has officially launched its new route between Dar es Salaam and Mtwara, with flights available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The inaugural flight, operated by a Dash 8 Q400, took off today, reinforcing ATCL’s commitment to expanding domestic access and unlocking economic potential in southern Tanzania.
With affordable round-trip fares starting at TZS 199,000, the new route offers greater convenience for business and leisure travelers. Speaking at the launch, Capt. Arif Jinnah, Acting Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the route’s role in boosting trade, tourism, and regional integration.
“This launch is not just about improved mobility—it’s about supporting the region’s growth and opening new opportunities for communities and businesses,” said Capt. Jinnah. The route will be served by the Bombardier Q400, a modern aircraft well-suited for regional operations, offering speed, comfort, and efficiency.
