Due to demand, Air Sierra Leone is expanding its international operations with additional flights to London Gatwick. Starting the week of August 11, 2025, the airline will operate two weekly flights on this route.
Under the new schedule, passengers can depart London on Monday and Friday evenings, and return from Freetown on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Sukh Mann, said: "We've designed this schedule to give passengers more flexibility and convenience when flying between these two important cities. The increased frequency reflects our commitment to this route and the growing demand for direct connectivity.
With this direct link, passengers no longer need to travel through third-party countries, face long layovers, or pay more for extended journeys. The total travel time is now just six hours.
The route is operated by a modern fleet, including the Boeing 737 MAX 8, in partnership with Ascend Airways. Onboard, guests can enjoy the airline’s signature inflight service, which includes curated Sierra Leonean dishes and continental options.
"We're confident this route will continue to grow, and we're already looking ahead to add a third weekly service in the winter season. We're also working to connect key West African cities to Freetown, giving regional passengers seamless access to London. Details on these new regional routes will be shared soon."
General Manager, Mr. Edgard Lacle, added: "Seats on the additional services are now available for booking. We're excited to welcome more travellers onboard and continue building our international network."
Intending passengers can book their flights at www.flysierraleone.com, or by visiting the airline’s office or through an authorized sales representative.
