Air Peace to Launch London Route with Special Low Fares

Nigeria's largest airline, Air Peace, has assured the travelling public of its resolve to ease their travelling difficulties, especially with respect to affordable fares.

The Chairman and the CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, made this known on Thursday, 22 February, 2024 during the airline’s travel agents forum for the London launch held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Onyema, the special low fares are targeted at students studying in the UK and across Europe. The discounted fares will make it easy and affordable for students to travel during holidays and school resumption period, easing the financial stress on their parents.

"Several parents have been disconnected from their children. Many students have not been home for over two years because their parents cannot afford return fares to London. Parents will no longer suffer to raise money for fares for their children because the student fares will be affordable for all parents," Onyema said.

"My children all schooled abroad and we insist that they return to Nigeria during their school breaks no matter how short. This is to enable us remain connected to our children and ensure they stick to our values and culture. I know this is also the desire of several other parents but this desire has been cut short because of high fares. This narrative will changed as soon as Air Peace resumes flights to London," he assured.

According to Onyema, launching the Lagos-London route is not about politics, but about listening to the yearnings of Nigerian travellers and giving them more affordable travel options and convenience.

While he didn't disclose how much Air Peace will charge on the lucrative Lagos-London route, Onyema promised that Air Peace fares will be cheaper than what other airlines are charging on the route.

The Lagos-London service will commence on 30 March, 2024. The six-weekly direct service will operate between the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos and London Gatwick Airport. The service will be operated using a Boeing 777-200ER.

Air Peace is Nigeria’s and West Africa's largest airline. The airline is in the middle of aggressive network expansion. It recently launched flights to Abidjan and Cotonou. It currently flies to over 30 domestic, regional, and international destinations, including Mumbai, Guangzhou, and Johannesburg.
