Air France is launching a new recruitment campaign for its cadet pilot programme starting on 2 June until 15 July. Aimed at candidates with a passion for aviation, whether or not they have previous flying experience, this programme offers comprehensive theoretical and practical training, entirely financed by the airline.
A challenging programme to become an airline pilot
Following a rigorous selection process, candidates will start a 24-month training programme provided by the company's partner schools. At the end of a challenging course including regular assessments, they will start flying on Air France's Airbus A220 or A320 or Transavia's Boeing 737 or Airbus A320neo as First Officers.
The cadet pilot programme is fully in line with Air France's strategy of transferring knowledge and supporting access to employment. The largest private employer in the Paris region, Air France has more than 40,000 employees, including 4,000 pilots.
Since the programme was relaunched in 2018, more than 300 pilots have joined Air France and Transavia France via the cadet scheme. In addition to the cadet programme, Air France recruits professional pilots every year. In total, the airline plans to recruit close to 300 pilots in 2025.
A sector open to a wide range of profiles
Air France is reaffirming its commitment to diversity and equal opportunities. Cadet pilot training is open to everyone, regardless of age or previous flying experience, therefore opening up the pilot profession to people from all backgrounds.
The airline is also committed to supporting women in the profession. In 2024, 25% of cadet pilots were women (compared with 9% for the airline as a whole and 5% on average worldwide).
The recruitment campaign is open until 15 July 2025. To find out more about eligibility requirements and the selection process, go to https://corporate.airfrance.com/en/airline-pilot
